Work instructions for OP-SLD process (English)

The Dutch version of this page is here available

This instruction page is intended for SMWers from suppliers where SLD-resources carry out an SLD-assignment for KPN. KPN Hiring Managers can find more information about the SMW-process on TEAMKPN.

Background information

SLD-resources (externals) who require access to KPN buildings and/or systems to carry out their classified SLD assignment (see Workforce Classification), must be registered as a person in KPN’s Identity Access Management (IAM) system with an active SLD-employment. This way, KPN always knows who works for/at KPN, and KPN can comply with the law and internal security protocols.

In IAM, access is facilitated on personal and employment level. KPN Assets are registered on personal level and access authorizations are registered on employment level. If an SLD-resource does not require access/assets, then this SLD-resource does not need to have an active SLD-employment in the IAM-system.

The role of the Supplier Manager Workforce (SMW) and his/her responsibilities in IAM

The SMW is someone from the supplier who has access to IAM, in which he must create SLD-employments on supplier level (offering an SLD employment to a KPN Hiring Manager) and must manage them. Management includes:

·       To terminate employments on time (within 7 days) if access isn’t required anymore, so the granted accesses underneath the employment will become inactive;

·       To renew (prolong) SLD & SMW-employments on time so the granted accesses underneath the employment will remain active;

·       From time to time, but at least once every quarter, the SMW will check if the SLD & SMW-employees – who have an active employment in IAM – are still employed;

·       To request the required accesses/keys underneath the SLD-employment. This is only applicable if the KPN Hiring Manager requests the SMW to do so;

·       To request the KPN Company Card if necessary. This is only applicable if the KPN Hiring Manager requests the SMW to do so;

·       To hand in provided KPN assets to KPN once they are not needed anymore.

These SMW responsibilities are contractually agreed between KPN and the supplier. For the IAM contract, see the additional documents. For larger suppliers, it is possible to have multiple SMW’s on supplier level in IAM.
