Your role as Big Data DevOps Engineer

You will play a key role in data governance, analytics, and visualization within KPN’s Fixed Networks department. Your work ensures that vast amounts of network performance and traffic data are processed, visualized, and transformed into actionable insights. Not only do you design and develop data analytics tools and dashboards, but you also actively contribute to improving our data governance strategy.

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data governance solutions for the Fixed Access network.
  • Build data visualization tools and dashboards for network monitoring and strategic decision-making.
  • Design and develop data ingestion and preprocessing pipelines for batch and real-time processing.
  • Optimize data processing jobs for efficiency and performance.
  • Maintain and enhance our CI/CD pipeline and DevOps practices.
  • Support internal teams by providing clean, structured, and accessible data.

To be successful in this role, you have at least:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Big Data Engineering (or a related field) and 5+ years of experience as a Big Data Engineer.
  • Expertise in Power BI and data governance to ensure compliance, security, and efficient data management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, and a solid understanding of CI/CD, automation, and DevOps best practices.
  • Deep knowledge of Hadoop-based platforms (e.g., Spark, Kafka) and data storage systems such as UDEX Data Lake.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written & verbal) and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. (Knowledge of Fixed Access Networks is a plus.)
