Busra has been working at KPN since 2017. She began her career as an engineer and has since risen to the position of IT manager. In her role, she not only leads technological innovation but also fosters the growth of her team within a tight-knit work environment that feels like a family.
Since when have you been working at KPN and how did you join the team?
"I joined KPN in 2017, a year after moving from Istanbul. With degrees in computer engineering and an MBA, I held successive roles at KPN as a backend engineer, cloud engineer, and FinOps engineer. Since 2021, I have been working with the AWS team at KPN Techbase, tasked with driving internal technological innovation. In mid-2023, I became an IT manager, overseeing the DE Stream and three other project teams."
Why did you choose KPN?
"I find telecom fascinating and had previously worked in this sector. At KPN, there are ample opportunities to switch teams and advance in your career. I don't plan on leaving anytime soon. I really appreciate the enthusiasm of my managers and team members. It feels like one big family."
What makes your work interesting?
"I enjoy helping people grow in their work. Even if I have only a small impact on them, it's great. When people feel happy, success follows naturally. That's why we also make room for fun and team outings."
What are you proud of?
"I'm proud of the successes my team has achieved, such as completing the migration to the public cloud. This was largely possible due to the dedication of the team."
How do you continue to develop in your field?
"I stay updated on relevant technological advancements through conferences, LinkedIn posts, and other information channels about specific products. We share our knowledge within our team and across KPN. We have Techbase guilds where information and ideas are presented."
What's next?
"I want to further grow my organization and the people within it by motivating them even more. We also aim to ensure that we deploy top-notch technology and continue to attract new talent."
