As a Senior Network Architect at KPN, you are at the beginning of a new and large project for a 'critical' client in the government domain. In this role, you work closely with this client, being involved in brainstorming, designing, building, and testing new high secure Network concepts and ideas. You translate architecture into practical solutions and contribute to the design, construction, and management of critical network infrastructures.

 

Your role as Netwerk architect

You are responsible for developing a high-secure technical Network design, requirements analysis, and vendor selection followed by implementation. Your team will scale up as we move from High Level Architecture to High Level Design and Low-level Design. You work pragmatically and hands-on, establishing standards based on the specific security requirements of this government entity. Your tasks include:

  • Creating a High Level Architecture, based on the customer's requirements, where you think creatively and advise as a "trusted advisor."
  • Translating architectural documents into technical network designs that can be implemented, in collaboration with architects and other specialists
  • Designing interfaces with other network domains (also outside this organization)
  • Advising on technical developments and target architecture
  • Supporting in drafting test plans and realizing test setups & conducting the tests themselves
  • You are the point of contact and sparring partner in the areas of Cisco routing and switching and Network-related matters.

This is your team

You will become part of a team responsible for designing, building, and managing the critical network infrastructure for a 'critical' government organization. The team works on a project where the new infrastructure is realized in spirals, with security as an essential focus. This multidisciplinary team, consisting of consultants, architects, and product owner, works in a hybrid manner. The first step of this new team is taken with the role of architect as a pioneer. We work from locations in Soesterberg, Den Helder, and Maasland.

To be successful in this role, you have:

  • Experience in developing and translating architecture into practical solutions in accordance with TOGAF
  • Knowledge of Cisco routing and switching at CCNP or CCIE level
  • Experience in designing high-secure network infrastructures
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with various protocols such as BGPv4, OSPFv3, and IPSec
  • Knowledge of high-quality hardware cryptography
  • Dutch nationality and fluent Dutch speaking for B screening purposes

  • You can choose to work up to 40 hours per week, allowing for a maximum of 8.5% gross salary increase

  • Excellent pension conditions: a total contribution of 23% of your pensionable salary, of which KPN contributes 16% and you 7%
