Your role as Data Engineer (Advanced Analytics)

As a Data Engineer, you’re the catalyst for impactful change, responsible for developing, deploying, and refining advanced data models that optimize our network’s active equipment. Leveraging your analytical skills, you’ll drive data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making, ensuring seamless connectivity for millions of customers. Collaborating closely with domain experts, you’ll integrate AI and machine learning solutions, transforming data into actionable intelligence. Your role will be pivotal in driving innovation and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with network experts to design and implement data pipelines and ETL processes for the fixed core network’s active equipment.
  • Modeling and simulating network traffic dynamics to guide network evolution.
  • Developing tools for real-time monitoring and predictive analytics to ensure network resilience.
  • Creating predictive tools for network traffic and deployment rules for equipment
  • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to streamline the deployment of data solutions.
  • Developing a simulation tool to optimize customer experiences based on network changes.

What will you bring us?

A data engineer with analytical mindset and a drive to learn and innovate. In this role, you’ll apply both technical and interpersonal skills to solve complex network challenges, ensuring KPN stays at the forefront of connectivity and sustainability.

To be successful, you’ll bring:

  • A master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data engineering, including building and managing data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deploying data solutions in production.
  • Initiative and a strong sense of accountability in driving projects to completion.
  • Curiosity to understand network complexities and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, REST APIs, and CI/CD tools.
  • Preferred experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), Dataiku DSS, and telecommunications.
  • Fluency in English, with Dutch language skills as an added advantage.
