Your role as Solution Designer Passive Fiber IT & New Build

You translate the Solution Architect’s vision into detailed functional and technical designs. Thanks to you, innovative IT solutions become reality, improving our design, build and maintenance processes for the fiber network. You’re not only the mind behind scalable, reliable and maintainable solutions but also a key player in implementation.

Translate the Solution Architect’s vision into detailed functional and technical designs for current and future IT stacks
Design scalable IT solutions focusing on reliability, performance and maintainability
Ensure robust and compliant IT solutions that meet enterprise security and governance standards
Collaborate with enterprise architects, solution architects, business process managers, data engineers and AI engineers
Lead and coordinate software engineers during the build and implementation phase

As a Solution Designer Passive Fiber IT & New Build at KPN, you play a vital role in shaping the backbone of our fiber network and driving digital innovation. In this vacancy, you combine IT solution expertise with the impact of building the Netherlands’ most sustainable network. What will you bring us?

You are proactive, highly analytical and able to clearly translate complex processes into IT solutions. You communicate easily with both technical and non-technical colleagues. Collaboration is second nature, and you take ownership of your work. To do this successfully, you have at least:

Minimum 5 years of experience in Software Development or Solution Design, including 4 years in Java or similar discipline
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Econometrics, Operations Research, Mathematics or similar field
Proven experience designing and delivering production-grade IT systems, high-availability processes and Fiber IT architecture
Knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, continuous monitoring, Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes and hybrid cloud (AWS, Azure, on-prem)
Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (such as TOGAF) and strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Gross monthly salary between €5.742,- and €8.865,- depending on your experience (based on 40 hours)
A fixed 13th-month salary, partially paid monthly and partially in January, or you can allocate it to a FLEX & BOOST goal of your choice
Annual individual and collective salary increases according to our collective labor agreement (CAO)
€1,500 per year for personal development, which you can use for training, coaching, or courses

Excellent pension plan: 23% total contribution, with KPN covering 16% and you contributing 7%
