Your role as DevOps Automation Engineer

As a DevOps Automation Engineer, you are part of the Metro Core & CPE development team.
Your responsibilities focus on five key areas:

  • Operational maintenance of our automation environment
  • Ensuring proper Life Cycle Management
  • Ensuring that our environments comply with the security policy
  • Optimizing and streamlining operational processes
  • Developing automation scripts and tools to increase efficiency

The Metro Core & CPE development team carries significant responsibility for the services delivered to our customers. The team is responsible for the daily maintenance and innovation of approximately 40,000 assets. To safeguard the continuity of our networks, various automation solutions have already been implemented.

We are currently in an ambitious transition program to replace the existing FCN network with a new Metro Core network over the coming years. Automation plays a crucial role in this transformation.

However, the continuity and reliability of our regular services and deliveries remain the top priority. In the coming period, special attention will also be required for the impact of—and alignment with—the AO and Unlock Data programs, as well as KPN’s ambitions regarding automation and the integration of L1 (NOC) and L2 operational activities.

KPN’s Metro Core network and its services must also comply with telecommunications legislation, Wholesale regulation, security requirements (including KSP), privacy guidelines, and various internal and external audits and certifications.

As a DevOps Automation Engineer, you can make a real impact, working as part of a team of approximately 30 international professionals.
