We are KPN's RED team. We plan, coordinate, and execute security tests on KPN's services, infrastructure, and systems. Sometimes these tests are purely digital, sometimes physical, and sometimes announced or unannounced to the broader company. Our goal is to identify security issues before our adversaries do—whether they are external or internal. We are a team of knowledge-driven individuals, and we take pride in our training and self-development allowance. Our mission is to keep KPN secure.
Your role as Ethical Hacker
In this role you look at systems and networks from the perspective of an attacker. You think about how weaknesses can be exploited both physically and digitally. You have a passion for CTFs, (code) puzzles and spend your free time reverse engineering binaries or playing games like HackTheBox. You will collaborate with other departments within the organization, for example with awareness training, assisting CERT with security incidents and risk assessments regarding geopolitics. You will participate in testing and security efforts of KPN and its interests.
A selection of your activities:
- Mapping risks by investigating and attacking systems, networks and applications.
- Carrying out attacks and providing insight into risks for other departments, followed by providing advice.
- Continuously learning about new techniques and vulnerabilities.
- Sharing knowledge about your expertise and applying your wisdom to make a difference.
